Abstract :
The purpose of this study is to analyze character education according to Jalaluddin Rumi and describe its relevance to Law Number 20 of 2003 concerning the National Education System, chapter 2, article 3. The problem of character degradation is still not an easy thing to overcome, especially if you only rely on educational institutions only. Referring to KPAI data which shows that since 2016 there have been 427 cases involved as perpetrators and/or victims of bullying and brawls. That number jumped significantly in 2020 recorded up to 1567 cases.
Based on these problems, it is very clear how crucial character education is for students. Jalaluddin Rumi himself is a Sufi poet who in his works also discusses about character. This study uses a library research approach and focuses on examining the values ??of character education according to Rumi in his book Fihi Ma Fihi and Matsnawi. The analysis technique used is content analysis.
The result of this study are the values ??of character education according to Jalaluddin Rumi, namely religious, noble, knowledgeable, healthy, skilled (capable), communicative, creative, independent, democratic, responsible, and hard working. It was also found that these values ??are quite relevant to the nine dimensions of character in Law no. 20 of 2003.
