Abstract :
In the current era of globalization, it is hoped that important information can be spread quickly, so that
people can easily access all information, especially related to disasters. This study aims to determine
the Dissemination Information of BNPB Public Relations in Improving Disaster Preparedness on
Instagram and to find out the obstacles faced by BNPB Public Relations. This type of research is
qualitative with a descriptive method. Research data obtained through in-depth interviews, observation
and documentation. The results of this study, Public Relations of BNPB carried out information
dissemination activities using the Luttrell theory (2019), at the Share stage, opening a two-way
communication space for followers to respond, criticize and suggest. At the Optimize stage, provide
complete contact information to make it easier for the public to contact BNPB and manually assign
hashtags. At the Manage stage, media monitoring BNPB's Instagram related to the development of the
number of followers, followers comments, followers' areas, gender of followers and others. At the
Engage stage, improve relationships with followers by inviting them to several BNPB activities. The
obstacle experienced by BNPB Public Relations is the lack of Human Resources for managing the
BNPB Instagram so that additional information is needed to increase the effectiveness of delivering
disaster preparedness information for followers, especially the Indonesian people. Recommendations
for further research, namely the development of research on the dissemination of disaster preparedness
information from smaller units and regions for equitable distribution of information received by the
public.
