Abstract :
This study aims to describe the effect of using English comic in teaching ?animal? theme toward seventh graders? vocabulary mastery. It was a quasi- experimental research conducted at junior high school. Vocabulary test was the instrument to gather the data. They were calculated using t-test and univariate. The result of the study revealed an t-test in the control class the result of post-test (M= 70.73). Meanwhile, the post-test result in the experiment class (M=78.67) with values yielded are t=-12.479. sig values. p= .00<05. The result of univariate of post-test showed the sig <,005. The findings imply that the experiment class obtains higher post-test score than control class. In conclusion, the English comic has positive effect in teaching vocabulary mastery at the first grade of junior high school.
