Abstract :
Suku Anak Dalam as part of indigenous peoples who are still left behind from the outside community and are given special attention by the government through one of the population and civil registration services. The Department of Population and Civil Registry is an extension of the government as a provider of population administration data collection services for tribal children. Then in this study the authors wanted to find out how effective the services provided by the Merangin district population and civil registration services were for tribal children and the obstacles they faced, and also the authors used a qualitative approach in conducting research and conducting direct observations and interviews in the field with related parties. Based on the servqual theory put forward by Zeithaml for each service quality measurement variable, the authors can state that the quality provided by the Merangin Regency population and civil registration service is ideal based on the servqual theory used in this study. Obstacles faced are customs that are still strong causing limited movement of officers in recording population administration, many taboos that cannot be violated, the desire of tribal children to carry out population administration is driven by promises from the government and non-governmental organizations to distribute programs that require them to have a resident identity.
