ABSTRACT Putri, Dhania Adela. 2023. English Education Students' Experience of Cross-Major During Merdeka Student Exchange Program. Thesis. English Education Study Program. Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of Jambi University in Academic year 2023/2024. The first supervisor is Failasofah, S.S., M.Pd., Ph.D. The second supervisor is Dr. Masbirorotni, S.Pd, M.Sc. Ed. This study aims to discover the experience of English education students participating in cross-major learning in Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka batch 2, the challenges and solutions in cross-major learning. This research uses qualitative methods with phenomenology theory. The participants in this study were ten English education students who had been determined by the researcher using purposive sampling. In the process of collecting data, the researcher conducted interviews with participants online or offline and asked them if they were willing to send documents in the form of files as additional material for analysis in this research. In analyzing the data, the researcher used narrative analysis. The result of this research indicates several points about learning activities such as the learning concept, which consists of student-centered, teacher centered and mix between the student-teacher centered approach in learning, which implements collaborative learning and benefits in learning that have an impact on self-improvement and the design of their future career. In addition, this research also analyzes the challenges and solutions applied by participants in adjusting to the local and school environment during the learning process, which is analyzed based on the participants' experience during the cross-major learning in the PMM program.
