Abstract :
Congestion is a transportation problem caused by the increasing volume of motorized vehicles without being
balanced by road capacity. Judging from the number of vehicles, both cars and motorbikes continue to increase day
by day. This is due to the increasing quality of life of the people of Jambi, so they are looking for comfortable modes
of transportation. Such as using private transportation or vehicles which are flexible and can be taken at any time.
Therefore, considering these conditions, it is necessary to conduct a study regarding the tendencies in choosing
student transportation modes at Jambi University. This research aims to analyze the choice of transportation modes
by Jambi University Mendalo Campus students. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires
using Google Form. The data obtained was processed using SPSS with a binary logistic model. The results of the
analysis show that the variable values for pocket money(0.167), vehicle ownership(0.000), driver's license
ownership(0.018), cost/cheap considerations(0.157), security considerations(0.014), speed considerations(0.163)
and availability considerations(0.125) are entered. to the multivariate test or appropriate because the p value is
<0.25. Then vehicle ownership is the main factor in respondents' choice of transportation mode to campus with a
sig value of 0.008.
