Abstract :
Body weight is an anthropometric measure that has an important role in newborns. The survey results show that 41% of pregnant women in Indonesia suffer from malnutrition. This causes birth weight less than 2500 grams, one of which is nutritional status. The problem that will be discussed is about how the relationship between increasing maternal weight during pregnancy and birth weight in infants at the Cambodian Posyandu, Sukowono Village, Jember Regency. Mother's weight during pregnancy is very influential on the birth weight of the baby so it has a very important role. This type of research uses a cross sectional type of study, namely analytic observational research that examines the relationship between variables and takes measurements, approaches, observations that are carried out all at once (Lathifah, 2019). In this study, samples were taken from 362 children under five at the posyandu Cambodia in Sukowono Village. In the calculation of the sample is done using the Slovin formula. This study was conducted with the aim of identifying the relationship between increased maternal weight during pregnancy and birth weight of infants at the Posyandu Cambodia Sukowono, Jember Regency. This research is expected to provide benefits for services, the development of nursing science, nursing education institutions, and for other researchers.
