Abstract :
This research is analyzing the translation strategies being used in the subtitle of the American Netflix movie series entitles The Umbrella Academy and edit the TL when found an error in it. This research uses qualitative approach by using descriptive method. In this analysis, the writer collects twenty three data and edits the translation strategies into seven edited translation by using literal translation method, ten edited translation by using idiomatic translation method, eight edited translation by using free translation method, three edited translation by using communicative translation method, one edited translation by using faithful translation method, one edited translation by using semantic translation method, and one edited translation by using contextual conditioning translation procedure. One datum may contain more than one edited translation. Based on this analysis, the writer has concluded that in order to minimalize errors or mistakes in translation, a translator must have vast knowledge about the languages being translated, knowledge about context and must not hesitate to look at references.
