Abstract :
This term paper discusses about Critical Issue of Overpopulation Crisis from the Science Fiction Movie of Avengers Infinity War by Anthony & Joseph Russo using discourse theories from Thomas Malthus, Herbert Spencer, and Juergen Habermas. More specifically, the study analyses the critical issue of overpopulation crisis from the science fiction movie of Avengers Infinity War that affects the decision making on population control from the morality standpoint. Different studies on theory are used in the research. First, Malthus? theory deals with the theory of population. Second, Spencer?s theory about social Darwinism on survival of the fittest. Third, Habermas? theory deal with moral discourse using rational action. Three type of illocutionary speech act such as contative, representative, and regulative are also used in the research. Furthermore, this study is a qualitative range of research; type of interstudy research of linguistic, social, demography, and philosophy that analyses using method of data collection in the form of population data and charts of population as the primary source and supported by history that is related to the research.
