Abstract :
The research aims to find out improving students? grammar ability by using communicative language. This research is conducted by using Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subject of this research is grade VII-8 of Junior High School 194 Jakarta which consisted of 34 students. The object of this research is to improve the students? grammar ability through communicative language. The data is gathered through quantitative data. The quantitative data is obtained from the students? tenses score of pre-test and post-test. Based on the result, this research shows that there is an improvement on the students? grammar ability, it can be seen from the mean score of pre- test is 30.06 and for the mean score of post-test 88.47. Then, the result of the scores and the mean in Post-test were better than in the Pre-test. It shows that there is improvement in grammar ability through communicative language.
