Abstract :
This term-paper discusses about the theme and character of a novel. Two approaches, intrinsic and extrinsic approaches, are applied to analyze this novel. The concepts that are applied to analyze through the intrinsic approach consist of characterization by using telling and showing methods, plot, and setting. The concept to analyze through the extrinsic approach is the dimension of curiosity and revenge. This research explains the reflection of curiosity and revenge on character Avery Greer as well as its relation to other intrinsic elements. In this research, The Last House Guest novel is the primary source and supported by some of the relevant theories, concepts, and definitions which as secondary sources.
