Abstract :
This term paper discusses the theme of literary work by applying two approaches, intrinsic and extrinsic approaches. Through intrinsic approaches the concept is: Characterization using telling and showing methods, setting, and plot. For the extrinsic approaches there is the concept of Personality Structure and Sublimation by Sigmund Freud. In this research, using some of the relevant theories, concepts and journals as the primary sources and novel My Lovely Wife by Samantha Downing as secondary sources. This term paper is a variety of qualitative research, types of library research, interpretative analysis using the method by collecting data in the form of literary texts from the novel My Lovely Wife.
