Abstract :
This research discusses about the Filipino immigrants who struggle in USA This story takes place in New York, especially in Hudson Valley. The immigrants have difficulty to get a job. The focus of this research is the way of the characters achieve their American Dream. The writer use the qualitative approach and the descriptive method as the method to conduct this research with the The Farm novel as the data source and using references from data that have already existed via books and journals to help analyze the character. The result of this research is all the characters are impacted by the American Dream. They work hard to have a better life in America. But, not all the characters can achieve their American Dream because of the conflict that happens to them. Evelyn Ate Arroyo is one of the characters can achieve her dream. In this research, the writer concludes that the American Dream is a dream for the immigrants. They work hard to achieve the success and change their life into a better one. Even though, not all people who work hard can be successful in there. Like the main character in this novel, who cannot fulfill her dream in America.
