Abstract :
This term-paper are focuses on the methods and procedures in English-Indonesian translation. Translation of phrases is the result of this research translation by enclosed with notes from myself as a responsibility of the translated text. The corpus data of this term-paper is taken from novel ?Sex and Vanity? by Kevin kwan. The objective of this term-paper are : (1) To know the methods and procedures of translation used in order to get equivalent translation and, (2) What are the problems found in the process of translation. In the process of translation I have use many of methods and procedures they are : amplification, cultural equivalent, idiomatic, semantic, literal, descriptive, word-for-word, communicative and borrowing. From this novel there are 30 phrases which have difficulty to be translated into Bahasa Indonesia.
