Abstract :
The purpose of this study is to describe the film script of Disobedience by Sebastian Lelio and
Rebecca Lenkiewicz from the point of view of radical feminism. This research uses a qualitative
approach. The object is radical feminism with the data source movie script disobedience by
Sebastian Lelio and Rebecca Lenkiewicz. The data analysis used is a semiotic model reading
technique. The results of the research analysis can be seen in terms of feminism, the role of figures
Ronit, Esti and Dovid are the main characters in the movie script Disobedience by Sebastian Lelio
and Rebecca Lenkiewicz who are in a same-sex or lesbian relationship in a married status with a
man. This same-sex or lesbian relationship is an example of rebellion that occurred in radical
feminism. However, after reviewing overall in the film script Disobedience by Sebastian Lelio and
Rebecca Lenkiewicz. There is a portrayal of radical feminism in character,plot, and setting. It was
Esti who finally chose freedom after reuniting with Ronit who was his old friend. The life choices
that Ronit and Esti lived as lesbians are different, Ronit is an independent woman who is not
married and thinks marriage is not important. Meanwhile, Esti is married to Dovid but is unhappy
because her life has been forced and her sexuality has not changed. And finally made a rebellion
with Ronit.
