Abstract :
This term paper discusses about a literary work, a movie. The analyzed problem is about the adolescents? phase of searching their identity. The analyses used in this paper are intrinsic and extrinsic approaches. The applied concepts through intrinsic approaches are: characterization ? particular patterns of action, the way a character speaks, the way a character responds and what others say about a character, plot, setting and theme and for the extrinsic approach the concept is identity versus identity confusion by Erik Erikson. The intrinsic and extrinsic approaches are connected to prove the assumption of this paper. This paper consists of qualitative method that uses ?Lady Bird? movie as the primary resource and supported by some of literatures that relate to the theory, concept and definition as the secondary sources. Key words: adolescents, identity versus identity confusion, Erik Erikson Skripsi ini membahas tentang tema karya sastra film dengan menggunakan pendekatan intrinsic dan ekstrinsik. Masalah yang dikemukakan adalah tentang pencarian jati diri dikalangan remaja. Konsep-konsep yang digunakan melalui pendekatan intrinsic dalam skripsi ini: perwatakan (tindakan berpola khusus, cara karakter berbicara, cara karakter memberi reaksi dan apa yang dikatakan karakter lain tentang karakter tersebut) alur, dan latar. Konsep yang digunakan melalui pendekatan ekstrinsik: identitas versus kebimbangan identitas. Pendekatan intrinsic dan ekstrinsik dikaitkan untuk membuktikan asumsi dari skripsi ini.Skripsi ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan film ?Lady Bird? sebagai sumber utama dan didukung oleh beberapa literatur yang terkait dengan teori, konsep dan definisi sebagai sumber sekunder. Kata kunci: masa remaja, identitas versus kebimbangan identitas, Erik Erikson
