Abstract :
This research aims to analyze the ambivalence to post-feminism portrayed in the story of Little
Women through intrinsic and extrinsic approaches. The intrinsic approach used in this research is
the analysis of characterization, plot, and setting. The extrinsic approach used in this research is
the concept of post-feminism by Sopia Pocha and the concept of ambivalence by Bohner and
Dickel. This research uses a qualitative approach in revealing the data. The object of this research
is the Little Women movie script written by Greta Gerwig. The results of this study are as follows,
the character's ambivalence towards post-feminism shows the variety of ideas between opponents
and supporters of the new feminist movement. Elaboration between characterization, plot, and
setting with the image of women through the perspective of being beautiful, having strength and
healthy physique, bravery, confidence, and getting their rights to have sexual relationships. Based
on this research, the movie script of Little Women represents post-feminism through plot,
characterization, and setting.
