Abstract :
This study attempts to identify the translation methods used in the subtitle of the film ?Shazam! (2019)? from English Movie Script that have been translated into the Target text. The translation is using 5 types of translation methods of the 8 methods provided by Peter Newmark?s Theory. The research employs qualitative research methods. The results of this research shows that the number of translation method which are found in the movie script are 33 data. The results show 14 data of free translation, 12 data of Literal Translation, 5 data of semantic translation, 1 data of idiomatic translation, and 1 data of communicative translation.
