Abstract :
This research was conducted to analyze a script by focusing on positive speech acts in the Netflix
series titled "Ginny and Georgia Two." The research approach employed was qualitative. This study
was carried out using a qualitative descriptive method as the results of the data analysis were
descriptive in nature, involving utterances, sentences, and language. The data for this research
consisted of speech acts expressed by the main characters in the script of Ginny and Georgia Two.
The findings from the data analysis revealed the identification of positive politeness strategies used
by the main characters in this series, with 42 instances of positive politeness strategies found within
the show. Out of the fifteen politeness strategies according to Brown and Levinson, nearly all
strategies were utilized except strategies 7 and 10. The most frequently used strategy in this study
was strategy 13. From these results, the utilization of Brown and Levinson's strategies in this
research served to identify data, address strategies, and factors influencing the main characters in
the series Ginny and Georgia Two. The predominant factors used were those related to social
