Abstract :
This term paper describes the theme of literary of Novel using intrinsic and extrinsic approaches. By intrinsic approach applied with with concepts : Defense of mechanism, Sublimation, and Depression. This term paper is a kind of qualitative research with the literature study in interpretative characteristic combined with the data collecting method in a form of literary text from a novel titled, Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert as a primary source and is supported by some literatures related to the theories, concept and definition as a secondary source.
