Abstract :
This research aimed to describe the method used by the English Teacher at SMPN 1 Lore Barat. The type of research is qualitative descriptive methods and the subject of this research is one English Teacher at SMPN 1 Lore Barat. The data are collected by using observation, interview and documentation. The result of this research shows that the methods used by the English Teacher are: Grammar Translation Method, Direct Method and Audio Lingual Method. In applying those methods the teacher used some techniques, in Grammar Translation Method the teacherused literary passage of translation, Reading Comprehension Questions, and Memorization and writing a new vocabulary. In Direct Method the teacher used reading aloud, question and answer section, write short paragraph, and practice the conversation. The last Audio Lingual method the teacher repeat sentences to guide students to read and teacher asked students to repeat word after the teacher.
