Abstract :
The purpose of this research is to describe kinds of adverbs are used by the second semester students of English Department at Sintuwu Maroso University. This research applies descriptive qualitative method. Source of the data in this research is the second semester students of Sintuwu Maroso University that consists of 17 students. The data is collected from documentation. Based on the research result, it is found that the dominant adverbs phrase use by the students is noun phrase. It can be seen from their assignment being described. The teacher ask the students to write descriptive text about an object, so adverb that often appear in their paragraph writing tasks are adverb of place and adverb of time.
