Abstract :
Anti-inflammatory drugs are widely used by dentists to be given to patients after excisional biopsy treatment. The selection of anti-inflammatory drugs to be given to patients is seen based on drugs that have the best anti-inflammatory effects and the least side effects. The purpose of this study was to find out the profile of the use of anti-inflammatory drugs after excisional biopsy of oral soft tissue disease by dentists in Palembang. The type of this study was a descriptive observational study with a survey method. The study was conducted using a questionnaire form intended to 40 general dentists and specialists in Palembang who had performed excisional biopsy treatment of oral soft tissue diseases. The result from 40 dentists in Palembang, it can be concluded that diclofenac (52.5%) and tablet preparations (92.5%) are anti-inflammatory drugs and drug preparations that are most often used by dentists in Palembang. Oral soft tissue diseases those are most often encountered by dentists in Palembang, which is then treated with excisional biopsy, are epulis and mucocele.
