Abstract :
The bread industry was an industry of trade, one of the activities involved distributing bread to the customers shops in the Palu. Distributing bread would certainly cost transportation. The method of transportation use to address transportation problems in this study is the North West Corner (NWC) method as an initial solution and was tested using Stepping Stone method and Modified Distribution (MODI) method. Based on research, in terms of optimizing total transportation costs, both methods select the allocation that has the largest cost reduction per pack or the value of the largest negative improvement index. Transportation costs are said to be optimal if in repairing index calculations there is no negative value. The optimum cost or the cheapest cost of transportation, is the same as Rp 91.560. The MODI method in repairing index is more efficient than Stepping Stone method because MODI version of improvement index is accessible without having to search for the shortest pathways.
