Abstract :
Communication will be successful if the speaker can convey his meaning and the listener can understand the speaker's intent. Otherwise, it will cause some misinterpretations and misunderstandings among speakers and listeners. This study aims to analyze locutionary and illocutionary speech acts based on the situation and condition when speaking to find out the meaning of the utterance. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method, to explain the results of the classification of speech acts in speech. The key instrument in this research is the researcher, as the main tool and media for the research to be carried out. The data sources in this study were three video speeches from Kim Namjoon (BTS) in which there were 18 locutionary speech acts, 17 declarative and 1 interrogative. declarative: giving information, interrogative: asking. There are also 41 illocutionary speech acts, 5 assertive, 11 directive, 3 commissive, and 22 expressive. assertive: describing, claiming, and affirmation. directives: command, invite, request, suggestion, and advise. commissive: promise and commit. expressive: thanking, praising, gratitude, gratefulness, happiness, concern, sorrow, and despair. Where the classification of these speech acts can determine the learner's strategy -starting from opening to closing- or vice versa.
