Abstract :
The majority of Generation Z takes advantage of the advance of technology as an entertainment media as well as learning, such as watching Western movies. Therefore, this research aims to identify and analyze the Generation Z?s views, challenges and obstacles toward watching Western movies as a digital EFL learning. This research utilized qualitative methods. The research subjects were Generation Z from Englishfess and Colle bases on Twitter platform. The data collection used triangulation techniques by combining questionnaire to gain important information from respondents, interview to obtain the deeper information and reflective journal to get a detailed information as the reinforcement. From 37 respondents, 64.9% respondents agreed that watching Western movies is a fun activity for EFL learning. In addition, 70.3% respondents concurred that watching Western movies is good for learning listening and speaking skills. Besides that, the respondents also have challenge in facing boredom with the plot of the movie and face obstacle in choosing interesting Western movie to watch. However, they can overcome the obstacle by looking for movie recommendations. As the result, it can be summed up that watching Western movies has positive influence in enhancing the Generation Z's listening and speaking skills.
