Abstract :
Electronic money is one of the good steps in the payment system in East Nusa Tenggara. All activities are carried out electronically and allow direct recording while transacting. In making decisions to use electronic money influenced by several factors. This study also aims to explain the influence and relationship of public perceptions of the use of electronic money which consists of three variables, namely ease, speed and security of the use of electronic money. The results of the study indicate that security variables have a positive effect on the use of electronic money. That is, the more public perceptions of the level of security will increase the use of electronic money. The data source used in this study is the primary data collection method in the form of a questionnaire. The population in this study were several employees and customers of the Kupang Branch BRI Bank who used the electronic money. The sample was determined by 30 people. Data is processed using descriptive statistical analysis and inferential analysis. The analytical tool used in this study is SMART Partial Least Square (PLS). From the results of the descriptive study explained that the ease of variables are in the good category, the speed is in a very good category, and security is in a fairly good category. Bootstrapping results show that security has a significant effect on the use of electronic money. R-Square value is 0.505, which means that 50.5% of the variable use of electronic money is influenced by security variables. That is, the easier, faster and safer in using electronic money, the public interest will also increase. Increased use of electronic money represents that the public increasingly accepts the use of non-cash transactions that will create a less cash society, namely the reduction of cash transactions in the community.
