Abstract :
The focus of this research is to find out how to empower the community in the marketing of ikat and to find out what factors are the obstacles to community empowerment in empowering ikat weaving. This research uses Kartasasmita theory. This study uses a quantitative method with a descriptive statistical approach in collecting research data by conducting observations, library research, distributing questionnaires about community empowerment in marketing ikat to weavers. Based on the results of the research, it shows that community empowerment in the marketing of woven textiles has not been carried out optimally because there are still several inhibiting factors for the community. The indicators used are. 1) Creating an atmosphere or climate that allows the community's potential to develop. The aspect used to measure is to determine the market and determine the product to be marketed. Like who and what items will be the target market. 2) Strengthening the potential or power possessed by the community aspects used to measure the management of prices and distribution such as the provision of place capital and completeness of other facilities. 3) community empowerment in the sense of protecting and defending the interests of The weak community the aspects used to measure are communication and promotion with good promotional communications so that prevent unfair competition. based on the results of data analysis shows that community empowerment in marketing as a whole from 3 indicators obtained a value of 144 this value is included in the classification of a fairly good assessment. This means that empowerment in the marketing of woven fabrics in the Praingu Prailiu traditional village, Kambera sub-district, East Sumba Regency is quite good. based on a descriptive analysis of each indicator based on the measured aspect, it was found that the inhibiting factors for community empowerment in marketing ikat weaving in the traditional village of Praingu Prailiu Kematan Kambera, East Sumba Regency in terms of the process of making ikat fabrics, lack of youth participation in managing ikat weaving, lack of capital in making ikat fabrics. ikat weaving and in the marketing of ikat weave experienced many obstacles.
