Abstract :
The thesis entitled ?The Effect of the Principal?s leadership and Teachers? Attitude on the Teachers? Performance at Inpres Elementary School, Noelbaki Kupang Regency?, is written by Welhelmina Florida Banabera, Reg.No. 8112191045MM, under the supervision of Dr. Agapitus H. Kaluge, M.Pd and Dr. M.E. Perseveranda, SE, M.Si One of the factors determining the educational success to achieve the learning objectives is the teachers? performance in the classroom. The teachers? performance is the product of teachers? ability to do his duties and responsibilities, indicated in subjects? mastery, understanding the students, the effectivity of classroom management, learning strategy mastery, and objective evaluation of students? learning achievement. This study aims to know: 1) The description of Principal?s leadership, teachers? attitude and teachers? performance at Inpres Elementary School, Noelbaki Kupang Regency. 2) The significance of effect of the Principal?s leadership on the teachers? performance at Inpres Elementary School, Noelbaki Kupang Regency. 3) The significance of effect of teachers? attitude on the teachers? performance at Inpres Elementary School, Noelbaki Kupang Regency. 4) The significance of effect of Principal?s leadership and teachers? attitude simultaneously on the teachers? performance at Inpres Elementary School, Noelbaki Kupang Regency. This research is a quantitative research applying associative method (multiple linear regression). The sample in this study is 39 teachers in the School Year 2020/2021. The data are collected by distributing a questionnaire and then are analyzed using SPSS Program version 22. The results of descriptive statistic analysis indicate that the teachers? perception on teachers? performance is categorized as pretty good (64.62 %), Principal?s leadership is pretty good (66.81 %), and teachers? attitude is also pretty good (66.72 %). The results inferential statistic analysis show that 1) the Principal?s leadership (0.088 > 0.05) has insignificant effect on teachers? performance; 2) the teachers? attitude (0.000< 0.05) has a significant effect on teachers? performance; 3) the Principal?s leadership and teachers? attitude (0.021 < 0.05) simultaneously have a significant effect on teachers? performance. The results of determination coefficient indicate that the Principal?s leadership and teachers? attitude contribute 14.9 % on teachers? performance, while the rest of 85.1% is contributed by other variables excluded in this study. Based on these analysis results, it is recommended to
1) the Principal to improve his leadership; 2) the teachers raise their attitude and performance to be better.
