Abstract :
The world is currently experiencing a tremendous growth in e-commerce. Indonesia as one of the country that affected by the growth, has shown that online selling platform as one of e-commerce field of business have become one of the economic backbone in Indonesia. This event becomes an urgency to form a law that govern the legal responsibilities for copyright infringement on e-commerce online transaction in Indonesia. Currently copyright protection law in Indonesia is govern by Law of The Republic of Indonesia Number 28 of 2014 on Copyrights. Even though there are laws governing about copyright, these laws have not been able to effectively protect copyright infringement committed in online selling platform. Regarding these matters this research will analyze every regulation governing copyright protection in Indonesia and compare it to other country that also effected by the growth of online selling platform. At present the law in Indonesia only govern responsibilities for the seller of copyright infringement goods, even though the responsibility should also be on the platform management. Therefore the authors feel the need for copryright regulation in Indonesia to be revised to achieve a healthy e-commerce climate.
