especially in Indonesia, online music stores have proven to be the biggest
music market known today. Therefore, it is becoming an essential for
musicians to sell their music on online music stores. Music aggregators
provide services for any musicians an access to sell their works on online
music stores as well as royalty distribution accumulated from these stores.
Independent artists and labels in Indonesia have benefited through the
presence of music aggregator as the only canal for them to gain distribution
access to these streaming sites, however, through real cases that happened in
the local music industry, music aggregators have proven to be capable of or
being involved in copyright infringement acts. Being the only canal for

distribution access to the largest music market, music aggregators need to be
supervised. This scientific paper is aimed to analyze how the Indonesian
copyright regulation protect the works of independent musicians on online
music stores, and to show the involvement of music aggregators on several
digital copyright infringement acts, therefore, to suggest government
