Abstract :
Film Doctor Strange adalah film superhero Marvel Studios yang menceritakan tentang seorang dokter ahli bedah saraf bernama Doctor Strange yang sombong dan ambisius. Suatu ketika ia mengalami kecelakaan hebat yang melukai tangannya. Sejak saat itu hidupnya berubah. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisa pemkanaan male gender role pada karakter superhero Doctor Strange dalam film Doctor Strange. Hasil penelitian dengan analisa semiotika Metz berhasil membedah male gender role pada karakter superhero Doctor Strange dalam film Doctor Strange. Oleh karena itu pemaknaan male gender role pada karakter superhero Doctor Strange tampak dalam film Doctor Strange. Semua male gender role ditampilkan, namun tidak semua male gender role messages ditampilkan oleh tokoh Doctor Strange, tapi hal ini sudah cukup sebagai perwakilan dalam menentukan male gender role Doctor Strange. / Doctor Strange is one of Marvel?s Superhero film which tells about an arrogant and ambitious neurosurgeon known as Doctor Strange. One time he had a big accident that hurted his hand and changed his life completely. This study aims to analyze the male gender role of superhero character Doctor Strange in the film Doctor Strange. The result done by Metz semiotic analysis has succeeded in dissecting the male gender role of the superhero character in the film Doctor Strange. Therefore, the meaning of male gender role of superhero character Doctor Strange appears in Doctor Strange's film. The supehero figure Doctor Strange is included in all male gender role categories. But of all the male gender role categories displayed by the superhero character Doctor Strange, not all male gender role messages are displayed. Nevertheless, this analysis is adequate to represent the male gender role of the character Doctor Strange.
