Abstract :
This thesis analyzes Register used by the Distributors of PT. K-LINK Nusantara in Probolinggo. It is selected because, the Distributors of PT. K-LINK Nusantara in Probolinggo has uniqe language that interest to analyze and the languages just can be understood by themselves, and the reason distributors used register are to make the communication became more effective and efficient among the members of particular groups. The problems of study are (1) What are the Forms of Registerbased on Part of Speech, Word Formation and Phrase used by the Distributors of PT. K-LINK Nusantara in Probolinggo? (2) What are the Meaning of Register used by the Distributors of PT-KLINK Nusantara in Probolinggo?. Register theory by Ronald Wardhaugh (2006:52) is chosen by researcher. Register is another complicating factor in any study of language varieties. Register sets of language items associated with discrete occupational or social group; surgeons, airline pilots, bank manager, sales clerks, jazz fans and pimps employ different register. The data is analyzed by using descriptive qualitative and uses sentences as the unit of analysis. The primary data is conversation script from recording of the Distributors of PT. K-LINK Nusantara in Probolinggo, and the secondary data that obtained of this research are collecting from the informant that become Distributor of PT. K-LINK Nusantara in Probolinggo to checking the data. Data collection method use observation, direct observation, recording and note (transcript). Beside that, the data validity determination method is using member check or rechecking. The result of this research is founds fifty one (51) Registers used by the Distributors of PT. K-LINK Nusantara in Probolinggo. The Meaning of Registers used by Distributors of PT. K-LINK Nusantara in Probolinggo (11 registers found in Lexical Meaning and40 registers found in Contextual Meaning).
