Abstract :
This research analyzed the changing meaning of Café in Probolinggo (Case Study English Café Probolinggo) . The purpose of this study is (1) To identify the changing meaning of Café in Probolinggo. The scope of this research is the changing meaning of café and the limitation of the study is café in Probolinggo especially those related to English Café. The theory on Changing Meaning Chaer (2012: 287) suggests to understand what is called meaning or meaning needs to look back at the theory put forward by Ferdinand de Saussure, father of modern linguistics about linguistic signs. This research was qualitative and descriptive with analysis all the culture and habit of the visitors of café in Probolinggo, the tutors and mambers of English Café till change the meaning of Café Probolinggo.. The Result of the analysis that café in Probolinggo has changed the meaning from entertainment space into educational space, because there was change culture that done by the visitors of Kopitan?s Café that gathering job with English Café of Probolinggo. This research hopes to give of thingking, and give significance to literature, literature as culture product.
