Abstract :
Hollywood films are always awaited every year in cinemas around the world many are popular and successful in the world prediction Box Office. The Box Office is a place to sell tickets for certain products. In other words, the box office same as the store. Cinema provides a place where people want to watch newly released movies. Cinema also pay attention to the language that fits the place. This research analyzed subtitle on Peanuts movie used by Steve Martino. The purpose of this study to find out Analysis of Translation Technique Used by Movie Peanuts. The scope of this research is translation technique main character of Charlie Brown dialogue in Peanuts movie and the limitation of this research on certain aspects of translation is expected to support researcher to have a wider and deeper understanding on translation technique and get the actual meaning of Charlie Brown dialogue in English Indonesian subtitle of Peanuts movie. This research describe the translation phenomenon, especially subtitle technique used in the film Peanuts movie. The theory on translation techniques was based on Molina & Albir that has 18 translation techniques. This research was qualitative and descriptive. The data collection technique was documentation. The data analysis technique used is based on Spradley covering domain analysis and taxonomy analysis. This research has 210 sentences, 6 types of translation techniques by Molina and Albir in 210 sentences. They are Adaption technique is Borrowing technique 2 sentences, Compensation technique is 8 sentences, Literal Translation technique is 119 sentences, Modulation Technique is 26 sentences, Reduction technique is 11 sentences, and Transposition technique is 44 sentences.
