Abstract :
Background: Indonesia is a country that is prone to disasters. However, the lack of health personnel is still an obstacle in dealing with disaster victims. Students are one of the assets that can be empowered to become volunteers in disaster situations. Purpose: To analyze the relationship between knowledge and attitudes with willingness to be a disaster volunteer for undergraduate nursing students at UPN Veteran Jakarta. Methods:Descriptive analytic research design with a cross sectional approach that was equipped with an exploratory method through open questions. The population in this study were undergraduate nursing students at UPN Veteran Jakarta with a sample size of 207 respondents. This study uses the Chi square test. Results:There is a significant relationship between knowledge and willingness to become a disaster volunteer with p=0.000 (p=<0.05), there is a relationship between attitude and willingness to become a disaster volunteer with p=0.001 (p=<0.05). The results of the open analysis show that altruism is the reason for students to become disaster volunteers. It is hoped that students can continue to improve their knowledge and good attitudes related to disasters and volunteerism so that they can help health workers in disaster locations and disasters as much as possible.
