Abstract :
The role of Propam in enforcing the code of ethics is very important because the increasing number of disciplinary violations and code of ethics in the police environment from year to year, especially in the abuse of narcotics committed by these police officers. This study discusses the role of Propam in enforcing the code of ethics against police officers who are involved in narcotics abuse in the Depok police area, and the obstacles that Propam faces in enforcing the code of ethics in the Depok police area. In this problem the writer uses a normative juridical approach, while this type of research is normative juridical, then the data collection methods used are observation, interviews, and documentation. The research that has been done shows that the role of propam in enforcing the code of ethics against police officers involved in narcotics abuse at the Depok Police is running well but has not been optimal due to several obstacles that have been experienced. The implication of this research is that propam should increase supervision and be transparent in providing fairly firm sanctions against police officers involved in narcotics abuse at the Depok Police and overcoming all obstacles so that the police involved in narcotics abuse do not tarnish the police institution.Keywords: Police, Propam, code of ethics violation, narcotics
