Abstract :
Infertility is the failure to achieve clinical pregnancy after 12 months or more of regular sexual intercourse without contraceptives (WHO, 2009). Couples in the world around 50-80 million experience infertility (WHO, 2012). The number of Reactive Oxygen Species due to exposure to cigarette smoke can affect the quality of spermatozoa, researchers chose to provide vitamins C and E as antioxidants to the quality of spermatozoa due to exposure to cigarette smoke in white mice. Method: Systematic Review by searching using Google Scholar and PubMed. Literature that discusses the quality of spermatozoa, cigarette smoke, free radicals, vitamins E and C, white rats (Rattus norvegicus). Results: There is 1 study that rats exposed to cigarette smoke and given vitamins C and E can improve the quality of sperm, including motility, sperm count, morphology, viability. Conclusion: an increase in the quality of spermatozoa due to the effect of antioxidants, namely the provision of vitamins C and E to white mice exposed to cigarette smoke.
