Abstract :
The students? reading comprehension of annotation strategy at second year SMAN 1 Tambusai was
low because they can not to comprehend the text given. The purpose of the research were to found out the effect
of annotation strategy toward reading comprehension at second year SMAN 1 Tambusai.
The method used in this research was experimental research. The researcher devided the classroom
into two parts, experiment class and control class. Experimental research was prepared by pre-test study design,
treatment, and post-test. Sampling is used by using cluster sampling technique. These samples included 30
students of class XI.
The findings shows that there is any significant effect between teaching reading with annotation
strategy. It can be seen of the value of U-Test =246 is bigger than value p with significant 5%= 0,02 by using Utest.
It
can
be
concluded
that
there
is
any
significance
effect
between
teaching
narrative
text
by
using
annotation
strategy.
