Abstract :
The purose of this research was to find out derivational affixes in beauty and the beast movie and to find out the functions of derivational affixes in beauty and the beast movie. This research was descriptive qualitative. The researcher took the data from the conversation transcript in Beauty and the Beast movie. Data was analyzed by using Plag?s theory. There were two types of affix which used, such as suffix and prefix. There is no infix found in this research. The researcher found suffix -ous, -ish, -ness, -ion, -ful, -less, -y, -ve, -ive, -ance, and -ly. Meanwhile, prefixes which found they were in- and un-. The functions of derivational affixes consist of noun forming, adverb forming, adjective forming, and verb forming.
