Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to determine the spesies of plant used in traditional medicine by Java ettnic Village Mahato Distric Tambusai Utara of Rokan Hulu. This study was conducted from March to April 2017. The research is a qualitative research with survey method and interviews on 10 respondents. The result found 16 family from 27 species of plants are used as traditional medicine, such as Clinacanthus nutans L., Nothopanax scutellarium Merr., Cosmos caudatus Kunth., Cyperus rotundus L., Paederia foetida L. dan Boesenergia pandurata. How to use is by boiling, crushed, kneaded, rubbed, grated, pasted, on wring, baked, soaked and sliced. Parts used in the form of folia (59,2%), rhizome (14,9%), fructus (3,7%), seed (3,7%), radix (3,7%), all parts (3,7%) and more than one part (11,1%). Diseases that can be treated about 21 diseases suc a diarrhea, fever, ulcer, anticancer, colds, cholesterol and hypertension.
