Abstract :
The research entitled An Analysis of Appositive Noun Phrase in English discusses the kinds and the structures of appositive noun phrase in English. The researcher applies content analysis to conduct this research. This method uses some steps; they are collecting the data, classifying the data, and analyzing the data. The source of the data was Campus magazine published by Pelita Harapan University. The population of this research is appositive noun phrases used in sentences. The technique applied to take the sample was the purposive sampling. Furthermore, the analysis applied expansion technique to describe the kinds and the structures of appositive noun phrases. Based on the kinds of,appositive noun phrases, the researcher finds 63 sentences. Non-restrictive appositive is the most productive appositive noun phrase found in Campus magazine. While, the less productive appositive noun phrase found in Campus magazine is list appositive with pronoun. Meanwhile, in the analysis based on the structures of appositive noun phrases, the researcher also finds 63 sentences. The most productive appositive noun phrase found in Campus magazine is Subject + Appositive Noun Phrase. Whereas, Appositive Noun Phrase + Subject is the less productive appositive noun phrase found in Campus magazine.
