Abstract :
This research is about the swear words contains in The Wolf of Wall Street.There are two purposes for this research, the first is to study about the kinds of swear words in the movie entitled The Wolfof Wall Street, the second is to let people learn the purposes of the swear words in The Wolf of Wall Street.The theory used in this research based on Hughes classification of swear words. In order to get the data accurately, the compatible technique of data collecting is used.The technique that used are recording and taking a note. The data in this research are all the swear words that can be found in the movie.The findings are various kinds of swear words that are uttered in the movie, and based on the result we know that the swear words can be divided into many kinds, for example:Swear words related to sex, swear words related to excrement, swear words related to name of animal, swear words related to personal background,swear words related to sexual activity, swear words related to taboo, religion, or oath,swear words related to mental illness. The result of this research is to make people understand about the swear words which are uttered in the movie entitled The Wolf of Wall Street.
