Abstract :
This study aims to compare the effectiveness between two types of insect pest traps, namely Yellow Pan Trap and Sticky Trap. This research was conducted for 3 months from July 2020 to October 2020. This research activity was carried out in Balung Lor Village, Balung District, Jember Regency, East Java Province of Indonesia. The installation of the two traps was placed in the middle of the corn plant area. This study used a non-parametric test. Data was analyzed using normality test and data homogeneity test. If the data is not normal and not homogeneous, it is continued with the Mann-Withney test. If the data is normal and homogeneous, it is continued with the Paired Sample T Test. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the average number of insect pests trapped in the Yellow Pan Trap (15 individuals) and the Sticky Trap (8). In general, the dominance of insect pests trapped in the Yellow Pan Trap was higher (0.08) compared to the Sticky Trap (0.12). Keywords: Corn, Insect Pests, Sticky Trap, Yellow Pan Trap.
