Abstract :
One part of artificial intelligence is an expert system. Expert systems can help solve problems by gathering and expert knowledge on the basis of reasoning. Experience and knowledge of health workers who have in dealing with a disease that can be used as a support in making expert system applications. The important thing for the community is to be able to recognize early indications of the disease they are suffering from. The purpose of this study is to review the role of expert systems in the health sector. The research method used is a literature review by reading journal sources and other reference materials according to the research topic. The journals reviewed were 25 journals that met the criteria for journals and research topics. The results of the study describe the role of expert systems in the health sector with themes obtained from this selected literature, namely the role of expert systems in early diagnosis of a disease, role in increasing knowledge about a disease, role in providing convenience for users, and role in increasing knowledge and training for doctors. The results of the study also describe methods for developing expert systems and issues related to the role of expert systems in the health sector.
