Abstract :
This study aims to determine the effect of adding a mixture of acidifier (lactic acid) and phytobiotics (turmeric extract) in encapsulated form in commercial feed on the performance of broilers. The research method used a completely randomized design (RAL). Data were analyzed using one way analysis of variance (ANOVA) with Microsoft Excel software followed by Duncan's multiple distance test (DMRT). Using 200 broilers which were divided into 4 treatment groups and 5 replicates, P0 = commercial feed (control), P1 = commercial feed + 0.5% mixture of lactic acid and encapsulated turmeric extract, P2 = commercial feed + 1% mixture of lactic acid and encapsulated turmeric extract, P3 = commercial feed + 1.5% mixture of lactic acid and encapsulated turmeric extract. Parameters observed were feed consumption, body weight gain (PBB) and feed conversion (FCR). The results showed that there was no significant effect on feed consumption, body weight gain (PBB) and feed conversion (FCR). The conclusion of this study is that the addition of a mixture of acidifier (lactic acid) and phytobiotics (turmeric extract) in encapsulated form as a feed additive 0.5% to 1.5% has not been able to improve the performance of broilers.
