Abstract :
A sustainable and competitive pumpkin seed agribusiness is characterized by the ability to respond to changes in the market efficiently, long-term interest-oriented, has innovation related to technology, uses environmentally friendly technology and strives for the preservation of natural resources and the environment. This study aims to analyze the sustainability of pumpkin seed farming in Banyuwangi Regency. The methodology used is Rap-Seed through the Multi Dimensional Scaling (MDS) method to analyze sustainability with 32 attributes from 5 dimensions (social dimensions, economic dimensions, environmental dimensions, infrastructure and technology dimensions, legal and institutional dimensions). The results of the index analysis for the social dimension are 55.57; the economic dimension is 61.81; environmental dimensions of 60.76; dimensions of infrastructure and technology of 47.28; and the legal dimension of the institution is 43.70. Factors that affect sustainability in the ecological dimension are the pattern of paddy field management, the economic dimension, namely money savings in the form of farmer savings, the environmental dimension, namely the level of pollution of irrigation channels, the infrastructure and technology dimensions, namely the distance to the location of paddy fields, legal and institutional dimensions, namely law enforcement/application. conversion settings. The most influential attribute needs to be evaluated on the sustainability of this farming periodically.
