Abstract :
Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is one of the cultivated plants that has been known as a food crop and currently its production ranks third of all cereals. This study aims to determine the best treatment between varieties and the number of rice seeds and to determine the interaction of the two treatments on the growth and production of rice seeds. This research was conducted in October 2021 ? February 2022 in Bucor Wetan Land, Pakuniran District, Probolinggo Regency, East Java. This study used a factorial randomized block design (RAK) with 2 factors. The first factor is the use of varieties consisting of 2 levels, namely the Ciherang variety and the Inpari 42 variety. The second factor is the number of seeds per planting hole which consists of 5 levels, namely 1 seed, 2 seedlings, 3 seeds, 4 seeds and 5 seeds. Based on the results and discussion, Variety treatment V2 (inpari 42) had a very significant effect on the weight of grain per clump of 255,63 grams, weight of grain per plot of 2.65 kg, weight of grain per hectare of 10.60 tons/ha. Treatment of the number of seed per planting hole J3 (3 seedlings per planting hole) had a very significant effect on the number of tillers 30 HST as many as 23,54 tillers, number of tillers 45 HST as many as 42,46 tillers, number of productive tillers as much as 29,65 tillers, weight of grain per clump of 255,65 grams, weight of grain per plot of 2.65 kg and weight of grain per ha of 10.60 tons/ ha. The interaction of V2J3 (Inpari variety 42 and 3 seeds per planting hole) gave a very significant effect on the number of tillers 30 HST as many as 23,54 tillers, number of tillers 45 HST as many as 42,46 tillers, grain weight per clump of 255,65 grams, the weight of grain per plot is 2.65 kg and the weight of grain per hectare is 10.60 ton/Ha Key words : Rice, Varieties, Number of Seedlings, Production and Quality of Seed
