Abstract :
The Field Work Practice Program is one of the requirements for a student to be able to take a final assignment that applies to students at the Jember State Polytechnic. However, based on interviews I did by distributing questionnaires to 10 students of Informatics Engineering majoring in IT at the State Polytechnic of Jember, 60% of them had difficulty in determining the place of internship, then 60% of them felt that they did not fit the internship place they had chosen, because every place Internships have certain criteria and also locations between students that do not match the internship place. This study focuses on determining the place of internship for IT Department Informatics Engineering students at Jember State Polytechnic by using a decision support system using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method. The Decision Support System for Placement of Student Field Work Practices in the IT Department at Jember State Polytechnic was built using the PHP programming language with the CodeIgniter 3 framework, Mysql, ProVolt Boostrap 5 template and based on a Website application. The Decision Support System for Placement of Student Field Work Practices at the IT Department at Jember State Polytechnic can help recommend student internships based on WEB expertise, Android expertise, Desktop expertise, Design & Multimedia expertise, Ms Office expertise, and Distance.
