Abstract :
This is the report of the final project Translating an English e-book entitled ?Operating System Concepts Ninth Edition?. The aim of this final project was to help the students of Information Technology Department understand the content of the book easily. The writer found some issues with the use of an English-language e-book at the Information Technology Department of Politeknik Negeri Jember when using e-book. Based on the preliminary study that the writer did the lecturer of Information Technology Department mentioned that several students are having difficulty comprehending the content of the e-book because the e-book is available in English. As a result, he added that it would be better if the e-book was available in Bahasa Indonesia, so that students could properly understand the content of the e-book. To solve the problem, the writer will translate the e-book from English into Bahasa Indonesia to help the students of Information Technology Department can understand the content of the e-book easily. In finishing this final project, the writer used the translation process stated by Nida and Taber (1982). There were three phases; analysis, transferring, and restructuring.
